Isabelle’s Poems

my poetry collection

newest to oldest

Stirred
my elbows digging into the grass
thin layers of clouds scattered above me
meanwhile the sun creeps in gently

a butterfly roaming across the field
only me and another eye notice
but then I close my eyes and feel it

the gentle rays of sun
stirred with a breeze
from Nat's swishing hair

Go Fold Your Arms

I overheard a song
and remembered your arms
I miss listening to your smooth skin
and replaying the same melody
again and again

I saw a sign, I was doing okay
But in the sign, I saw your arms
it reminded me of the times
when we would look up and laugh at the board
telling us it's the end
now I can't seem to laugh anymore

I watch the sky, I watch to forget

go fold your arms
one more time
so just like the song and just like the sign
I can look back and realize that it's not just an artifact
but something that I can have again and experience once more

at least just for this moment in time
at least it's all in my mind

In Between The Concrete
like the grass that grows
in between the concrete
I hope to someday
develop
from a place that no one expected me to

The Ocean
she waves at me
I have to go
my mind is just like her
current
but just like her spring tide
I come back
to think of her
